Facundi Bacardi Masso created this distillery that made Hemingway and Cuba famous. This is the place where everything started. Enjoy history with a glass of frozen Mojito.
Bassa Ronoda
This is probably the favourite spot for the gay community. Bassa Rodona (part of Platja de la Ribera, just past the breakwater) is the most gay-popular beach in the Mediterranean. It’s extremely easy to find, the multi-colored flags will guide you! From the town, walk along the promenade to the third beach zone, it’s just in front of the Hotel Calipolis. In peak season, the area is packed, so if you want a sun bed, it’s best to arrive before lunch. The beach has nice bar that serves drinks all day long and there is music from around 4pm. Immediately behind the beach is the Picnic cafe & restaurant. Picnic is open all day long serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are free toilets on the roadside next to the bar.
Museu Cau Ferrat
Is the former home and study of the artist Santiago Rusiñol, one of the most important figures of the Modernisme movement in Catalonia. The beautiful house has a stunning view at the sea and contains an amazing collection of pictures and artefacts.
